LAS VEGAS – Manny Pacquiao doesn’t need Floyd Mayweather to make lots and lots of money. Pacquiao, now listed as the richest congressman in the Philippines, can be richer by as much as $30 million or nearly P1.3 billion. Bob Arum has made the disclosure, saying reports that Pacquiao is guaranteed $20 million for tomorrow’s fight at the MGM is “correct.” And when all else comes in, from pay-per-view to ticket sales to closed-circuit television to merchandise, Pacquiao will get 72.5 percent of everything. “He can probably look forward to probably as much as $10 million over the (guaranteed) $20 million,” said the greatest boxing promoter of all time.
And it means $30 million, perhaps the biggest declared earnings for Pacquiao for a single fight. Arum sat down with a group of Filipino sports scribes at the MGM Thursday afternoon and talked about Saturday’s WBO welterweight contest.
He said Mosley will be “a very tough guy to knock out” but added that anything is possible when you’re dealing with the 32-year-old superstar. But just in case the unthinkable happens, with Mosley winning against all odds, a rematch, as stated in the fight contract, takes place inside six months. “We’re already looking at November 12,” said Arum This early, the Top Rank big boss has a date set for Pacquiao’s next fight, and it should take place also at the MGM Grand, even if it doesn’t involve Mosley. “We hope to do the fight back here in Las Vegas at the MGM. And we’re looking at Juan Manuel Marquez as the opponent,” said Arum.

“That’s my first choice. I concentrate on him and if he’s not available then we look at somebody like Timothy Bradley,” he added. No mention of Mayweather, who may or may never fight again.
